A Grand Time With The "Grands"

Thank you, "Gramma Soup"! With George home for a visit, Gramma Sue snatched up the opportunity to get another portrait done of the Grandkids. This was a feat like no other. It took bribing, dancing, clapping, threatening, crying, and physical force to get all these kids to sit the heck still for these shots. Mia insisted on acting like she didn't know anyone else in the shoot, and Camryn was just freaked out that everyone was acting weird and smiling at some stranger talking silly to them!

Eh, some turned ok, and some are just reflections of what it's like when these crazy kids are all in one space at one time.Kaiya's a ham, but Camryn's all "EEEEK"!
How handsome is that Matt-Man? Look out G.W. "chicks" (That's what Matt calls girls)!

You can never get TOO much cheese from Kaiya.

Love you all,

Marianas Cup Winners!

Guam won the Marianas Cup against NMI 8-0. The whole team played great, but this is the best I've ever seen Tiffany play. She played a very mature, and composed game, with total self confidence. She held it together and played the way coach expected her to even with Saipan fans heckling her about her hair. Goodness, they were horrible!

She received many compliments, and what I mostly appreciated out of all them were the ones from people who've watched her grow into the player that she is. They understand what it is that I am truly proud of with her. Not just that she played very good this game, but she played her best!

This was in the Marianas Variety. As usual, they screwed up the information. She's a Mid-fielder, not a foward. Sheesh!

Guam VS CNMI

"1, 2, 3, GUAM!"

It's crunch time. We're preparing for the 2009 Marianas Cup. Game time is 4pm, 3/14/09 at Leo Palace Resort. Wish us luck. We cannot tie. We cannot lose. I cannot find my brain because I lost it this morning trying to get all the paperwork done for this game so that team Guam will actually be qualified to play. I don't know why the coach asked this frazzled old lady with memory issues to manage the team. I don't think this part of soccer is my favorite, but I'm glad I can help in anyway I can to get front row seats to watch Tiffany play.

6-2-2

Yesterday was my last day of coaching the St. John's Middle School Lady Knights Soccer Team. They finished the season with 6 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Pretty darn good, if you ask me. I enjoyed coaching these girls immensely. Some of these precious girls did NOT know they had fight in them, but once they learned that they did, they fought hard! They fought their way to a much improved standing from last year. The darlings were sweet to treat me to dinner, a gift, the traditional signed ball, and a silly song about our season together sung to the tune of Jonas Brothers' "Lovebug" song after our last game yesterday. These girls make uneven skin color, hoarseness from screaming, and heat rashes worth every penny of the small check I'll be getting next week, ha!
I think I'm hooked on this coaching.

I'm Lucky Like That!

On this night of John's Air Force Awards Banquet, I had to pick out a dress last minute. I did not know till the last minute that I'd be attending so I didn't have time to make sure I found a dress noone else had. Genius that I am, I figured that if I picked the most God awful, matronly looking thing, I'd be guaranteed the only one wearing it.

Well, I forgot how lucky I am, being Palauan and all. I had the pleasure of sitting two tables away from a little old lady wearing my very same dress, and looking better in it! I was quite surprised to see that anyone actually wanted to wear something that looked like a cross between a nun's habit and a hairdressers cape. I thought is was discounted so much because noone would buy it. Blech! I hate these banquet thingies and having to dress for them.

Yes, John's uniform is a tad snug around the waist. It's been a while since he last used it and he thought it would still fit. Mia looks cute though, huh?

John's Big 40 Weekend

We spent John's 40th birthday (2/13/09) in a hotel and on the beach. We had a great time seeing the island as a tourist would. That weekend had great beach weather, so we spend some time in the water and the little ones had a blast in the sand. They had sand in places you just shouldn't have sand in. They didn't care! Here's a few shots from that fun, relaxing weekend, which included a Valentine's dinner for John and myself. Still each others' Valentines after all these years.

Thank you tons, Woodburns, for the buttload of fantastic chai tea. I'm going to have to ration it. Tiff's enjoying the stuff too! Thank you, thank you guys. Love you too much.
