Happy Thanksgiving!

Thinking hard, making sure she has the moves down right.
At attention, ready to "PRE-form", as Mia says.
Mia's coconut turkey with help from Daddy. Can you tell which is her's?
Mr. Handsome Pants
Mia's class had a little performance and luncheon. JB got to get in on the good chow too with his sister hookup!
Lot's of fun. We're spending the holiday down at Cross Island, as usual. Looking to be a beautiful day. Love and miss you all. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving day!

Open house!

JB and Mia's teachers are pretty cool. Mia was nuts, and JB performed in front of a ton of people and liked it!

The weekend

The only way to tame the wild beast that is Mia is to turn the computer over to her. Disney has a fantastic website with fun, age appropriate games.

Mia Wants A Pet

Ducks. No. Just no. BUT, these are some fabulous duckies, no? Mia is a talented drawer, just like her Daddy.

Summer fun!

Getting ice cream after a long hot day at camp filled JB with joy. Mia enjoyed just being outdoors.

Mia's first day at Pre-school!

She was a little nervous.

It's a whole new woooooorld!

She scoped the room out and looked a little freaked out inside, but not once did she look to me to save her. Not once, even though she did confide in me that she felt like vomiting, did she ask me to take her home. She's wanted this since the day I told her she was testing for it. Even though she had been known at her daycare for the past 4 years as "new student" because of her habit of crying and clinging to me at least 3 days out of the week, she took it all in stride.

Go, Mia.

Hello?

Hi, hi, hi. Yes, I know. Slackity slack. Well, besides being like a chicken with no head, John took the camera to Wake and and the cell pictures come out pretty blech.

I'll be back on it real soon!

Someone's getting an early start to elementary school!

Mia took a test to see if she was GATE material.  She made the score, but had to wait to see if she made the cut to get into the 8-2 Pre-GATE program at MU Lujan where JB goes to school.  Well, she did!  Mia starts Pre-GATE next school year!  I'm so proud of her, and she's so excited to be a "Baby Dragon" at MU Lujan.

Sleepy Baby

It's hard being a kid. Mia fell asleep just like this after a tough morning of making demands, big messes, and harassing her big brother.

Last night and adios!

For Tiff's last night home, we played together in a futsal game.  We had our game written up in the paper and had some photos of us online.  Pretty neat!  We won the game, then went and had dinner together with her friend Jay.  Today we saw her off to head back to Gramma and Papa Mike to continue getting smarter.  We miss her, but it was such a wonderful visit, there were no reasons for tears, except from Mia for loving from Sissy.  We miss her, but we know she's going to do great things and we are rooting here on from home.  Love you, Tiff!

Family time.

John, Tiff, Mia and I walked a 2k this past Saturday to support the U13 national soccer team.  JB actually ran it because our family friend Sean was running it too.  JB actually placed 6th overall!  He says he prefers running races like this to soccer.  As long as he's active!

My birthday dinner pictures.

Happy birthday to me!

Tiff and her friend Jay gave me this fabulous bouquet of fruits and a beautiful cake for my 38th birthday. Tiff also treated us to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant. What an awesome birthday, and even more awesome daughter.
Thanks, Tiffany!

The Grandkids (-1)!

We had a "Steak and Cake" at Dad and Sue's to welcome Tiff, and wish me a happy 38th.  Yes, I'm turning 38.  I can still beat you, George! Here are the Hokanson/Yasuhiro Grands, minus Matt. Poor JB is outnumbered. That's Camryn, JB, Mia, Tiff, and Kaiya.  Such beautiful, sweet babies.  All of them!

Tiff's here!

We've been enjoying having Tiff home. We've played soccer and had the traditional steak and cake celebration. It's nice to have her here for my birthday for once. She has missed it the last four years playing soccer in Japan for high school.

More pictures to come!

Hi ho, hi ho...

It's off to work we go since we've gone back to monthly payments for a new whip.  This baby has "soccer mom" written all over it, and I'm proud.

Echo, echo, echo...

Hello, hello! Yes, we are alive. I have just been really, really busy. I don't even think I've taken many pictures since the last post, and John's got the camera in Korea, so I don't know when the next set will come.

Let's see. John's in Korea for a month and 1/2 to do military type stuff. I have coached another season of middle school soccer at St. John's. Once again I had a fabulous group of girls, and we fared well. Mia turned four, and I don't have pictures since I don't have the camera (boooooo!!!), and JB's about to turn 9. Holy smokes, these kids are aging me!

I can't believe another school year is closing up. We're already planning on Tiff's home visit, and I have Mia scheduled to be tested for a PRE-Gate program. 1/2 the test is leaving my side and going alone with the teacher to be tested. I think that will be the toughest part for Mia. As we all know, her nickname at daycare is "New Student" because even though she's been at that daycare since 8 months of age, she still pitches a fit at least 4x a week when I drop her off in the morning. If we can get her in the door, I think she's got 1/2 a chance of getting into PRE-Gate for the next school year. The nice thing is they have a class next school year at MU Lujan so her and JB will be together, and the class is a regular 8am-2pm class. This would be a huge score for everyone. No more paying an arm and a leg for daycare, and Mia, who's pretty bright, will have a full day of challenging activities, which she really enjoys.

We're doing alright. With the last day of coaching being yesterday, today is the first day back to our relatively stress-free schedule. We need this while John's away, or else I will have no hair by the time he gets back from me pulling it all out.

I hope you all are well. We love and miss you all so much. I hope the weather gets warmer so you can get out and get back to your outdoor activities.

Love,
Team Camacho

She's looking much better!

It's looking so much less like a gang-bang scar lately with doses of aloe vera from Mom's plant.
She looked quite the UFC fighter for quite some time there with her bandaged head and jacked up teeth (2009 was a rough year towards the end there).
Now life is easy-peasy good, and she can focus on the little things, like doing her nails.

Random Photos!

JB is tough, for real. Told him not to smile because it's not tough looking to have 3 cute dimples and two big chicklets.
Yay for Skype! The kids video chatting.
