Fun in the sun!
We spent Saturday afternoon at Matapang beach, celebrating the birthday of a nephew from John's side of the family.
It was Mia's first beach swim and she had such a blast!

They made it!
Tiff and Matt have made it safely to Florida. Poor Tiff, being as lucky as she is, was one of the lucky fliers to have her luggage put on another plane. Otherwise, the flight was long, but both should be rested up for some serious touristing.
Oh, and cancel my diet. I stink at not eating!

Summertime!
Summer brings caffiene, playing on weekday nights til dark, and waking up past 9am!
Mia... aiyaiyai. Where in the world does this girl get her temper? At the bbq where these pictures of her were taken, she got very upset with me for taking away her watermelon that fell on the ground. I went to throw them away and in her blind rage, she ran up to a lady she thought was her mother, wrapped her arms around her legs, and when said lady pulled away to turn to look down at her, Mia attacked her knees with fists of fury! She thought the lady was me! She was not even embarrassed when Tiff pointed out that she got the wrong Mommy. No, she just got more upset and threw a tantrum. Oh, we had words... many, many words. She also got more watermelon that instantly quieted her fit of rage. Lordy, this one is all John's.
We went to Amy Atkinson's graduation party. I have never seen such love an dedication to one's child. Her father revealed the cutest little secret of Amy's. Apparently, she still enjoys a tucking in at night from her Mommy. What a wonderful example of a mother daughter relationship. It reminds me so much of Bala and Angie. I hope to improve my relationship with Tiff with the results of those two examples always forefront in my mind. I'm looking forward to my children making me as proud as Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson. I will strive to do my part.
Ok, so tomorrow I'm going on a diet. I am not as active as I need to be with the way I eat. Since I don't have time to improve my activity level, it'll have to be my eating habits. I'm heavily researching the South Beach Diet and will start that tomorrow. So, I've had my fill+ of all the foods I THINK I will miss and tomorrow I start phase one, which excludes and and all starches. Lord, help me. I love the white stuff, but something's got to give. Join me anyone? I know Anic has done well with giving up sugar. I will keep that in mind and resist will all my power.
Wish me luck!

On the Mend
Mia's is eating well again!
"I like FOOD!"
"I'm full."
We're back at daycare today, and hopefully she won't have a blowout like last Friday. Poor thing let loose on one of the highchairs at school. I cleaned it myself because I felt sooo bad. It looked like a portajohn blew up! She's been eating really well all weekend. She's eating meat and rice again, which is a really positive sign that her tummy's getting better. I've thrown out her bottles. It's been a week+ and she hasn't asked for it, so I think it's a good time to cut the bottle out. I hope she gets nice and chunky again. She was starting to looking a little thin!Sunday, June 3, 2007
Pukesville.
Tiff in Japan for the Far East Tournament. The infamous "Muzu" (pout).
Mia's got terrible flyaway hair.

The two Johns. JB must be trying to butter up Daddy.

Mia and Me. She found a pacifier in her box of bottle gear a few days ago and she's been using since!

Well, it's been a rough week and 1/2. Mia got sick last weekend with either a reaction to custard or a tummy bug. Which ever it was, this was the worst illness she's been through. She couldn't keep anything down for at least 3 days, and she's still not tolerating formula, so she's done with the bottle without any real effort. I think picking up the pacifier is to satisfy her need to nurse of something to fall asleep as she seems to only use it at nap time and bed time. She's very resourceful!

Tiff and JB are both on their way to summer. Tiff, of course, is going to have one heck of a summer while JB will likely go to a summercamp. I'm sure he'll have a blast. JB's done on the 9th and Tiff's done on the 12 of June. I think they both could use some time off from the school pressure.
Since not having to go to practice, I'm home a lot more and am getting quite a bit done around the house. John's got drill this weekend, so he up at the base. He's tired, but happy with his job, especially since he gets to come home at a decent hour and he's got the weekends off.
Not much else going on. I wish JB, Mia and I could come out and visit you all, but one day... one day.
